Frequently asked questions

How accurate are these mortgage calculators?

They give estimates based on the numbers you enter. Your actual payment depends on the lender, your rate, term and amortization, and your approval. Sasha can confirm real numbers once she reviews your file.

Is the calculator a rate quote or an approval?

No. The results are general information, not an offer, quote or approval. Rates and terms depend on the lender, the property and your situation. Contact Sasha for a personalized quote.

What does the mortgage payment calculator use?

It uses the mortgage amount, interest rate, amortization and payment frequency to estimate your payment, and it shows how much goes to principal and how much to interest.

What costs are not included in the monthly payment?

Property taxes, home insurance, utilities and condo fees are separate. Closing costs such as legal fees, and any lender or broker fees, are also extra. Any broker fee should be disclosed to you in writing before you commit.

Do these calculators work for private or commercial mortgages?

They suit standard residential scenarios. Private, commercial and self-employed financing work differently, with different rates and fees, so read the guides or contact Sasha for a quote on your file.
